Hey friendos!
I’m Joedan Worley, author of the Wayspring Wanderer: A Desert Druid LitRPG series. This is a project born from equal parts lifelong daydreaming and a love for stories that mix heart, pain, adventure, and a touch of magic. Writing this book series has been like going on a quest of my own—minus the cute pangolin companion (unfortunately).
The journey to becoming an author wasn’t always a straight line. I’ve been a military veteran, a podcaster, and a lifelong fan of epic tales that make you laugh, cry, and cheer all at once. When I was in the hospital after a cool explosion that took my left leg, and for years afterwards, I consumed books instead of hospital meds every chance I could. Stories were, and still are, my greatest escape, and so I decided I wanted to create those kinds of stories. If one person gets peace and escape in my world, just one… it’ll be worth it to me. That’s been my goal from the start. So I made friends, worked hard, and Wayspring Wanderer was the result.
The series explores a desert world full of challenges, camaraderie, and unexpected discoveries, much like my own journey into writing and publishing. I’m beyond excited to share it with you all and hear your thoughts—because, really, what’s the fun of telling a story if you don’t have people to share it with? You can call it a Ka-Tet if you want, or found family, but this is my story, and I call it a Collective, and I would really love for you to be a part of mine.
If you’d like to connect or learn more about my other projects, you can find my website here. Let me know what you think. I promise no Kobolds were harmed in the making of this series, and that’s the first lie I’ve told you.
