Hey, Joedan here.
Nice to meet you! I’m a lifelong reader, gamer (Ultima Online was my first MMO because I’m pretty old now), and lover of druids. In fact, I used to roleplay a druid character on AOL chatrooms back in the day… I even had an angelfire page.
I’m probably better known for what I’ve lost than what I’ve gained, but you know what they say: when you’ve had a rough go of things, write a story about a guy who had it worse than you to feel better about yourself!
Well, my guy Oskar starts out in a rough place, but if you’ve met me, you know I run on caffeine and hope.
Actually, if you’ve met me, you know I can’t physically run at all, but you get the point.
Oskar is a Marine who’s fought for his life before, but as a Druid, this is a whole new game. He pushes through, finds a place where he has a purpose, and he finds people to share that purpose with on his quest to save his brother.
The job is never done, though. There’s always someone or some-world to save, and Oskar is just the guy for the job. It doesn’t always come easily for him, though. There’s no Marine Corps manual on how to deal with a desert planet with two suns, a deranged dark shaman, and a dangerous Crocodilian who’s got a stranglehold on an oasis full of Wayspring water—the lifeblood of this dying world.
It’s a dynamic, growing story about characters with depth living in a world that, desert or not, is full of life. Even better, I’m super excited to share this story with the incredible Daniel Wisniewski, the narrator that’s helping me tell this story. Hearing his audition was the moment my story felt real to me. I invite you to join our party, our Collective. Let’s go save a world together.
